MOSINEE - Mosinee soccer hosted Northland Pines on Thursday.
For the Eagles, it was sophomore Liam Oas who got past the goalie to put Pines up 1-0 in the 60th minute.
"Coach called my name so I stepped up to take it. I saw the keeper leaning to the left so I just slowly walked up to it, looked him in the eye and played it to the right," said Oas.
And 1-0 would be the final score, Northland Pines with the victory.
The Eagles will host Washburn/Bayfield next Thursday to get their post-season started.
Now on the volleyball side, Mosinee came in to their senior night as Great Northern Conference champs.
The Indians locked in that title last weekend at the tournament at Northland Pines when they beat the Eagles in a five-set thriller.
"It feels awesome. It's what we've been working for since my freshman year. My dream finally came together and the whole team bonds so well, it really feels like the perfect dream season," said senior Sophie Kamke.
Mosinee took down Marathon tonight 3-1 to win their senior night and last home game of the regular season.
The Indians start their playoff run next week with a bye on Tuesday and then they play on Thursday at home against the winner of the Logan and Sparta match.
