Winter Weather takes a toll in Chicago
CHICAGO - WINTER WEATHER IS NOT LETTING UP... AND IT'S TAKING A TOLL EVEN IN A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE ARE USED TO IT... CHICAGO.

PEOPLE WERE OUT THIS MORNING (FRIDAY) PLOWING WALKWAYS AND DIGGING CARS OUT IN ORDER TO GET TO WORK.

OTHERS WHO STILL CLEARED THE WALKS OUTSIDE THEIR HOMES... OPTED TO STAY HOME.

THE SNOW WAS HEAVY AND PILED HIGH IN NEIGHBORHOODS WHERE THEY STRUGGLED TO GET OUT.

THEY WERE DIGGING OUT AND DEICING AT O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. CREWS HAD THEIR HANDS FULL AS THEY PREPPED THE PLANES TAKING OFF EARLY THIS MORNING.

FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS BEGAN LAST NIGHT AND ONLY INCREASED AS THE MORNING WENT ON.

ACCORDING TO FLY CHICAGO, BETWEEN BOTH MIDWAY AND O'HARE, THERE HAVE BEEN MORE THAN A THOUSAND CANCELLATIONS.

FORECASTERS SAY THE SNOWFALL WILL NOT END ANY TIME SOON.
