Antigo boys hockey wins fifth straight GNC title
ANTIGO - The Antigo Red Robins hockey team won a share of the Great Northern Conference title last week after shutting out Northland Pines.

That title is the teams' fifth straight, and it comes after starting their season at 2-7.

Bouncing back from that rough start wasn't easy. The team has nine seniors and that leadership was a big part of why they were able to turn their season around.

"We have so much experience from all the hype and everything. All the seniors, we've made it to state and we expect so much more. Being 2-7, we knew we were expecting a lot more and we had to be leaders of this team," said senior captain, Adam Schmidt.

Antigo will share the GNC title with Northland Pines who defeated Medford 7-0 on Thursday.
