Three Lakes' new chamber director started this week
THREE LAKES - One Northwoods town got a new chamber of commerce director this week. Collette Sorgel spent her first day as the Three Lakes director Thursday.

Sorgel moved to the area full time back in 2009. As the new chamber director, she plans to send surveys to get feedback from various businesses and town board members, to see what things the chamber could improve on.

"I'm hoping to contact a lot of people and learn a lot, and bring that information back to the board so the board can help me with a strategy," said Sorgel.

Long term she hopes to make businesses more successful overall in the area.

"How can we filter in a little bit of economic development, help look at affordable housing, help look at having more people working and finding jobs to keep the businesses open more," said Sorgel.

Sorgel says this year they do plan to change up the format of the chamber's annual magazine.
