Grande resigns as Price County Highway Commissioner after investigation
PHILLIPS - Price County's Highway Commissioner stepped down last month.

According to County Administrator Nick Trimner, Don Grande resigned on Friday, Jan. 18.  Grande had been on administrative leave since Dec. 27, 2018.  A memo released to county employees at that time noted the county itself would investigate Grande, however it did not specify what the investigation involved.

Trimner was not at liberty to explain the investigation to Newswatch 12 when asked.

The memo also warned employees and Price County Board members to notify supervisors if Grande attempted to contact them.

Joe Baratka was named Interim Highway Commissioner on Dec. 27. As of Feb. 11, Baratka was still listed in that role on the county's website.

Trimner told Newswatch 12 on Monday he could not comment further on the matter because Grande resigned.
