Snow emergencies declared in Merrill, Wausau, Weston with next storm rolling in
WAUSAU & MERRILL - If you live in two area communities, you'll need to avoid parking on the street the next few days.  Merrill, Wausau, and Stevens Point declared "snow emergencies" on Monday.  This restricts parking on all city streets while the emergency is active.

Merrill's is in effect starting Tuesday at 11 a.m. through Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Wausau's goes into effect from 11 p.m. Monday through 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Stevens Point's notice goes into effect Monday at 11 p.m. through Wednesday at 7 a.m.

Weston's snow emergency goes into effect Tuesday at 1 a.m., and lasts until Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The move helps plow drivers clear snow without having to go around parked cars.

Merrill reports its can cite violators $20, not including towing fees. In Wausau, the city can cite violators for $100 dollars.
