UPDATE: Victim identified in Langlade County snowmobile crash
TOWN OF PARRISH - The Langlade County Sheriff's Office released the name Tuesday of a woman killed in a snowmobile crash over the weekend.

Jodie R. Rethaber, 41, of Merrill died after crashing with a car on Saturday night.  The crash happened near County Q and Highway 17 in the town of Parrish.  Rethaber died at the scene.  The driver of the car was not hurt.

According to the Wisconsin DNR, alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The DNR's report did not specify as of 11 a.m. Tuesday if Rethaber was wearing a helmet or was certified to ride.

The LCSO and the Wisconsin State Patrol investigated the crash.

Rethaber's death was one of five snowmobile-related deaths across Wisconsin over a two-day stretch. Riders also died in Iron, Calumet, Dunn, and Forest counties on Friday and Saturday combined.

There have been 14 deaths on snowmobiles in Wisconsin during the 2018-19 riding season.
