RHINELANDER - As the weather warms up here in the Northwoods people will start to get their homes ready for spring and summer.
At the 35th Annual Hodag Home Show people got the chance to connect with local business that could help with those home improvements. The Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce hosted the event earlier today where vendors from the area were able to showcase a variety of services and merchandise. From lawn mowers and grills to garden accessories and even some homemade BBQ sauce, the home show had about 45 different vendors this year.
Rhinelander Chamber executive director Lauren Sackett says the home show is for all types of businesses.
"It's certainly a great opportunity for business that maybe don't have a store front or are newer a little less well known. It's a great opportunity to get in front of the public," Sackett said.
But the home show is more than just a showcase of construction and landscaping companies.
Sackett says community groups were ALSO able to attend to show off member projects, recruit new volunteers and raise funds for worthy causes.
"It is so much more than that, we do have financial services that are here. Non-profit organizations are looking for volunteers," Sackett said.
