A Jewell in Rhinelander
RHINELANDER - Eilen Jewell and her band performed at the Nicolet Theater Saturday evening. It's the final show in WXPR's annual concert series. WXPR station manager Jessie Dick said performances have ranged from blues to country in the past.

"It's really important that if you believe live music has a spot in the Northwoods, that you come and you join us for these events," said Dick.

Dick described Jewell's sound as Folk-Americana. Jewell has released seven albums, with her latest featuring a dozen blues covers.

"Usually when she's in larger cities, it's standing room only so we're really excited to have her in the Northwoods," said Dick.

Around 200 people showed up for the concert. The next concert series will be announced mid-summer. Dick added that if you would like a particular band in the next concert series, email or call WXPR. You might be seeing that band next year.
