Rhinelander GM donates baseball equipment to Northwoods Babe Ruth League
RHINELANDER - A group of Rhinelander baseball players will start their summer season with brand new equipment, thanks to Rhinelander GM and Toyota.

The Northwoods Babe Ruth League is a baseball league for kids 13 to 16 years old.

When the league's President, Joe Patrone, was preparing for the season, he knew the athletes would need some new equipment.

"All the equipment was bad, just old, rugged looking, just wasn't safe so we reached out to GM and they came through for us," said Patrone.

Patrone's wife Stephanie reached out to Rhinelander GM and Toyota, hoping the dealership could help get a few bats for the kids. She said not all of the players can afford bats or might not have them if they just started playing. But the dealership helped out in a way Stephanie didn't expect.

"Stephanie reached out to us and said, you know here's a few things that we're really looking for, but really we're looking for just a few things off the list. So we decided to buy the entire list," said Rhinelander GM and Toyota Marketing Coordinator Tarsie Goes.

Wednesday the kids were presented with their new equipment including bats, batting helmets, catchers equipment and more.
