Checkout option allows Walmart shoppers to donate to Marshfield Children's Hospital
RHINELANDER - Chipping in an extra dollar when you check out at Walmart could make a difference in children's lives.

Walmart stores in Rhinelander and Wausau are teaming up with Children's Miracle Network to raise money for Marshfield's Children's Hospital.

Over the next month, shoppers can choose to add $1 or more to their bill.  That money goes directly to treating children and medical research in central Wisconsin.

The local partnership has raised more than $2.2 million since it began in 1987. It's part of a nationwide partnership between Walmart and Sam's Club stores and the CMN, which has raised more than $1 billion in that time.

You can give through July 7.
