Sunset View Resort and Tavern celebrates beginning of Packers season
ELCHO - Packers fans waited eight months to see the green and gold back in action and well the wait is finally over.

Green Bay welcomed the Houston Texans in the first preseason game of the year.

Sunset View Resort and Tavern in Elcho kicked off the Packers season with a tailgate party.

But the bar goers were celebrating more than just football.

A horrible storm ripped through Langlade county last month damaging hundreds of buildings and thousands of fallen trees.

Tavern owners Carrie and Jerrett Praske wanted to bring everyone together to relax, take a break, and enjoy some football.

"We wanted to get people together. Everyone has been working cleaning up their yards, too many chainsaws running so it's just nice to get people together," Praske said.

People enjoyed a taco bar and drinks alongside fellow Packers fans.

Wade Farmer from Antigo said he wouldn't have wanted to spend the evening anywhere else.

"The owners are awesome, the bartenders are super nice, super fun people and my cottage is only eight places down so it's a nice easy walk. But on top of that the atmosphere is amazing," Farmer said.
