Mountain Dew delivers on promise to create custom Upper Peninsula bottle following map mix-up
UPPER PENINSULA - Thanks to a mix-up by a popular soda brand, more people now know what's north of Wisconsin's Northwoods.

After Mountain Dew confused Michigan's Upper Peninsula as part of Wisconsin in their Dewnited States campaign, the @UpperPeninsula twitter account called out @MountainDew on social media.

"I AM NOT WISCONSIN," the U.P. account said. ""Fix this, or send a free case to all my residents. Your call."

Mountain Dew reached out to right the wrong and quickly delivered on its promise to make a custom U.P. bottle.

"Help us fill this special edition label by telling us all of the things you love about the Upper Peninsula," the Mountain Dew account replied.

A limited number of the custom bottles were sold in downtown Marquette Sunday afternoon. One such bottle has already appeared on eBay for $600.

The bottle features images of boats, fishing, the Mackinac Bridge and a snowmobile.
