Wausau Police arrest man in connection to Wednesday evening shooting
WAUSAU - On Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at approximately 6:40 p.m. Wausau Police Officers responded to Langsdorf St. between N. 3rd St. and N. 5th St. for a report of possible gunshots.

Officers located empty shell casings in the area and began investigating the source of the casings. About 15 minutes later, additional information was received that a 16-year-old male had arrived at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Emergency Room with a gunshot injury. It was determined this happened at the Langsdorf St. location.

The investigation led officers to an address in the 1300 block of N. 3rd St. where a 20-year-old male, identified as Kaiden F. Bemowski, was arrested for the shooting and transported to the Marathon County Jail on a preliminary charge of attempted homicide.

It is believed this was an isolated incident stemming from a drug-related confrontation between Bemowski and the juvenile male victim. The victim's injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.

This investigation remains active. Anyone with additional information about this incident should contact the Wausau Police Department at 715-261-7800.
