Rhinelander tennis wins 9th GNC title in ten years
RHINELANDER - Rhinelander athletics celebrated all sorts of victories during homecoming weekend.

Hodag tennis won its ninth GNC title in ten years on Saturday.

The Hodags hosted all eight conference teams.

Rhinelander finished with three titles, three doubles runners-up and one bronze.

Senior Kenedy Van Zile finished her regular season career as a three-time singles champion, alongside Kaylee Pontell and Kat Metropulos who both won the gold.

Rhinelander head coach Bob Heideman reflected back to the beginning of the season and how much the girls overcame to get to this point.

"I just know I don't know if this team is tough enough in close matches to make it through. But they hung together and did it. So that is a great sense of accomplishment for me and the team," Heideman said.

Marissa Stolt and Ella Schroder of Pacelli won doubles players of the year and Becky Larrain of Newman won singes player of the year.
