Northwoods Wildlife Center to host open house this weekend
MINOCQUA - An organization in Minocqua works to help animals get back out into the wild after they're injured.
This weekend, it wants to give people a behind the scenes look at how it makes that happen.

The wildlife center is hosting its annual open house this weekend to celebrate the 40-year anniversary. People will get to take tours of the center and meet some of the animals recovering.

Executive Director Mickey Mueller wants people to understand how the center operates.

"We have a lot of people that support us," Mueller said. "I think it's important that they can see what goes into the efforts of trying to keep the wild in the wild."

The open house begins at 1 p.m. Saturday. It's open to people of all ages with kid-friendly activities as well.
