Kids enjoy pumpkin themed activities at Hanson's Fall Fest
RHINELANDER -
Children from all over the Northwoods gathered in Rhinelander for some new seasonal activities.

Kids played pumpkin bowling and hung out with a Hodag at Hanson's fall fest.

Manager Beth Hanson has assisted in organizing the fall fest since 2013.

She decided to have this event after noticing that something was missing.

"We always looked at what was available in our area and people were having to travel pretty far away to do a lot of the corn mazes and pumpkin patches," said Hanson.

She says the Hanson planning committee is constantly looking to update their fest.

"We keep trying to make the event bigger like think of new ideas, new games, other ways to bring the community out here," said Hanson.

Angela Clothir brought her 14-month son to the pumpkin-themed festival.

She says he now has a few new favorite activities.

"It's been the corn patch, him swimming in the corn, as well as the pumpkin patch," said Clothir. "The pumpkin patch has been fun for him because he likes the small gourds to play."

Clothir has been to the festival for the past few years.

She is happy she can now bring her son to experience some family fun.

"It's a community event which is great. I think there's a lot of people that don't get a chance to get out farther to the ones down south or north of us so to have something in central and northern Wisconsin has been really nice," said Clothir.
